Three Protagonists in GTA V Revealed

Exciting news for Grand Theft Auto fans. Rockstar revealed in Game Informer magazine that GTA V will have a whopping three protagonists throughout the game. An 18 page spread in the December issue of the magazine further revealed that these players can be interchanged at nearly anytime in a world larger than Rockstar’s vast Red Dead Redemption, GTA: San Andreas, and GTA IV combined. The game appears to include environments ranging from military bases, wilderness, and an explorable ocean floor. The world has been confirmed as a revisit to the city of Los Santos — the mock-Los Angeles — and its surrounding cities made famous in GTA: San Andreas.
This marks the first game in the series to be told from the perspective of multiple protagonists, reportedly named Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. GTA IV offered two other playable characters via downloadable content, but the focus of the story was centered on Niko Bellic: the loveable, murderous Eastern European immigrant.
GTA V’s protagonists, however, are not only interchangeable, but can also work together, each having unique personalities and skill sets. It will also feature randomized missions similar to Red Dead Redemption.
Rockstar confirmed a spring 2013 shipment to the Xbox 360 and PS3 and the second trailer is set to be released on November 14th. More previews to come!
